Better Homes and Gardens magazine again features a Rick Brauchler, Jr. & Co. LLC remodeling project on the Connecticut shoreline. (Dec '10)
Beginning as a kitchen renovation project, again a collaborative effort with Covenant Kitchens and Baths’ design team, this project grew into a major whole house remodel. All of the interior finishes of the 6,000-plus square foot home were removed to make way for layout changes which included a spacious master bedroom suite and wine room, among others. This once seasonal ‘cottage’ was brought into code compliance to allow for year-round enjoyment. All new electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems were installed, as were new windows and a staggering 18,000 linear feet of clear fir beadboard, finishing the interior walls and ceilings. Custom trim and millwork was provided which matched the original details of the early 20th century home.
